Langtoun Jazz Gypsy Jazz & Swing Fundraiser
Fans of Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz are in for a treat with 2 bands playing for listening or dancing
Locarno Swing will open the night evoking the spirit of the 1930s with guitar duo and bass playing a wide range of swing and popular music of the time. Their driving rhythms and Brylcreem polished lead lines are strongly influenced by the music of Belgian Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, however, their interpretation of standards such as Blue Skies and I Got Rhythm point toward a modern and vibrant approach which still retains all the excitement and pizazz of the inter-war period.
Tim Saul Quartet will then take over and will be joined by Angela Duncan on vocals playing a fine mix of jazz and swing standards.
