Nick Tardif: Bass and Compositions
Nick Tardif presents his latest group The Infamous Hymes live at Pangea for his 40th birthday celebration. This project is the culmination of influences ranging from modern and classic jazz, classical minimalism and counterpoint, ambient electronica and more. The group consists of Simon Jermyn, and Jeff Davis-some of New Yorks most creative and active jazz musicians, and Frank Kozyra and Nick Tardif who hail from Connecticuts rich and abundant jazz scene. This group is a realization of Tardifs compositional style and vision of his music to come.
Nick Tardif is a bassist, guitarist, and composer living in NYC. He studied upright bass under Dave Santoro, and learned improvisation and the jazz tradition from mentors Tom Melito, and Noah Baerman. He is currently studying composition with Juilliard professor Dr. Kendall Briggs, and works professionally as a sound designer and composer for High 5 Games where he is called upon to write a wide range of musical styles. As a musician Nick has played in a variety of settings throughout the US, bringing his unique voice to each project he is involved in.
