Dancing with Duke Ellington
Perfect for Valentine's Day and celebrating the legendary Duke Ellington, the New York State Ballet will debut choreography by Robert Royce, feature a live jazz band conducted by Dr. Jared Chase, and feature the renowned singer Jessica Ann Best.

Duke Ellington became famous for his Big Band sound, with many of his pieces becoming standards.  He is considered a pivotal figure in the history of jazz, with such hits as "It Don't Mean a Thing," "Satin Doll," and "Something to Live For."  Ken Scott is the featured saxophonist and known for his jazzy big Band sound.  Jessica Ann Best is the Mezzo-Soprano and has performed nationwide in opera, musical theatre, and jazz.
