Lou & Peter Berryman with special guest Matt Watroba
Madison folksingers and songwriters Lou & Peter Berryman travel around the country singing their humor infused, oddly profound songs for more than 35 years. They've been working on a new album, and will be showcasing some new work tonight.
In their years on the road they have met some fellow musicians who are too good not to share with Madison audiences. This is the second time they are presenting their good friend Matt Watroba.
Matt Watroba has long been known as a folk music interpreter. He is know for his reinditions of traditional ballads as well as his skills as a song leader. He grew up outside Detroit MI, and started his career in music at the legendary Ark in Ann Arbor MI, one of the the oldest and most prestigious folk clubs in the country. The he frequently opened the show, as well as MCing and hosting an open mike.. His notoriety there led him to hosting hiw own folk music show "Folk's Like US" on WDET in Detroit, where he further acquainted himself with every major folk act in the country. These days he's a folkdj on NPR's Folk Alley, nationally broadcast on WKSU in Kent OH, when he lives with is family. He continues to tour widely, and he has added songwriting to his bag of skill.
