The Strand Consort: Beethoven's Mass in C Major
The Strand Consort burst onto Londons choral scene in January 2019 with a two-per-part performance of Bachs motets. Under the guidance of Musical Director Joseph Fort, the consort continues to captivate audiences with performances that exude the choirs affection for its repertoire. Primarily comprising alumni from the Choir of Kings College London, the group also draws singers from the UKs top musical institutions.
Central to the choirs ethos lies the encouragement of camaraderie and creativity, with each project emanating from the pitch of a choir member. We allow our singers the freedom and resources to programme music that they love, and to share their ideas with a wider audience. To this end, the group has performed works by a diverse range of composers, from Parry and Dyson to Rachmaninov and Owain Park.
The Strand Consort looks forward to sharing a performance of Beethoven's Mass in C Major, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth. The concert will be held at King's College London Strand Chapel on 28th February at 7:30pm. Tickets are £15/£10 for students and are available online and on the door.
