Person In Charge Food Safety Handling Classes
NOTE: Due to the COVID-19, this is a virtual training using Zoom.
It requires a laptop or tablet with stable internet connection, speakers and microphone, and a webcam.
If you do not have a Zoom account, you will need to register for one (free) at Zoom account: https://zoom.us.
The Zoom link, password and class materials will be emailed to you the day before the class.

The Washington Food Rule state that at least one designated Person In Charge (PIC) MUST be present during all hours when food is being prepared for sale and/or served to the public.
The PIC must: Know when to exclude ill food workers from working with food. Ensure all food workers follow the food safety regulations Demonstrate knowledge of food-borne disease prevention, application of HACCP principles, required procedures of the Washington State Food Code, along with the top 8 food allergens and your facilities policies around food allergies.
PIC Training DOES NOT replace Certification as a Food Protection Manager
PIC training DOS NOT replace Washington Food & Beverage Worker's Permit.
What is PIC Training? PIC training is a 4-hour workshop to help shift leaders, managers, supervisors, and owners address the major revisions and addition to the Washington Food Rules.
Training Topics include: Foodborne illnesses Employee health Temperature Control Cross Contamination Bare Hand Contact & hand washing Equipment and food safety Cleaning and Sanitizing PIC responsibilities Basic Concepts of HACCP
Participants will receive: A certificate that qualifies the participants for a 5-year food handler's card upon renewal. When registering please add attendant's name so certificates can be printed.
