THE SONG OF NAMES presented by LA Jewish Film Festival
Join us for an exclusive sneak preview of the new drama from Sony Pictures Classics
THE SONG OF NAMES
Followed by a Q&A with producer Robert Lantos (Barney's Version, Eastern Promises.)
Martin Simmonds (Tim Roth) has been haunted throughout his life by the mysterious disappearance of his brother and extraordinary best friend, a Polish Jewish virtuoso violinist, Dovidl Rapaport, who vanished shortly before his London debut concert that would have launched his brilliant career. Thirty-five years later, Martin discovers that Dovidl (Clive Owen) may still be alive, and sets out on an obsessive intercontinental search to find him and learn why he left. Beneath the films stunning and pulsing musical revelations burn the horror of World War II and the lost souls extinguished from history.
THE SONG OF NAMES was directed by François Girard (THE RED VIOLIN) from a screenplay by Jeffrey Caine (THE CONSTANT GARDENER), based on Norman Lebrechts prize-winning novel. The film is produced by Robert Lantos (EASTERN PROMISES, BARNEYS VERSION, BEING JULIA).
