Women Who Folking Rock are back for a special holiday show featuring the ever dazzling and intoxicating Gina René, Janet Croteau, Karla Hutton, Haley Sage, and Lyndsay Stone. Come join us for a sweet evening of original music by original women - and a holiday tune or two.
Janet Croteau: Janet is a Santa Cruz, CA based songwriter, comedian, spoken word artist, and psychotherapist. Her music is infused with her quirky and effervescent spirit. She brings an authentic and humorous presence to the stage and believes that if you stop being who you are that the real people will never find you. Janet recently released her first album, Wild Heart.
Karla Hutton: Drawing from her personal experiences, Karla strips life down to its essence through thought provoking songs of hope, loss, love, and fear. She sings each song with intimacy and passion, hoping to evoke emotions that are often healing, sometimes haunting, but all universally familiar. Originally from Ohio, Karla now lives in Bonny Doon on 2 beautiful acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. She is currently in production for her first album due out in 2020.
Gina René: Gina is a local & internationally known singer-songwriter, speaker and women's empowerment facilitator most celebrated for her unique style and ability to weave a common thread between her own life experience and that of the collective. Gina's name means Queen Reborn which she views as a call to practice being an authentic, courageous and empowered woman. With class, grit and mad skills in the music and vocal talent departments Gina René delivers an uplifting message of inspiration and possibility that leaves listeners buzzing for more. Gina René will be premiering classic songs and some from her forthcoming album with music producer Million 7.
Haley Sage started her career in music Santa Cruz's own Dancing Cat Productions, and has since taken her talents internationally, circling the globe over two dozen times! She brings her effervescent personality, vocal talent and musical skills on an array of instruments to the stage.
Lyndsay Stone: Singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Lyndsay Stone was raised on the east coast by a folk singer and a blues-rock guitarist, and began playing instruments at the age of 7. Stone draws inspiration from folk singer/songwriters such as Gregory Alan Isakov, Anais Mitchell, and Laura Marling, and her debut album, Feather, has been applauded as poetic, emotionally kinetic, haunting, and giving.
