Jazz Nights at Roedde House - Jennifer Scott and René Worst
Jennifer Scott is a Vancouver-born vocalist and jazz pianist specializing in jazz, blues and world music. Jennifer is considered one of the most important jazz artists working in Canada and the United States today. From sold-out concerts in San Francisco to exclusive local club performances, Jennifer's performance experiences have been varied. Jennifer has appeared at Jazz Festivals all across Canada and in several of the United States.
Jennifer Scott has appeared on Jazzbeat, Westcoast Performance, and CBC's Hot Air several times, and was selected to be featured on four separate CDs produced by the CBC. She has also appeared on several TV shows as a featured performer.
Rene Worst, an internationally known and respected jazz bass player, has established himself as a leading bassist in North America for several decades. He attended the UBC School of Music and Douglas College jazz program and was voted Bassist of the Year by the BC CARAS Tribute to West Coast Music for the 4 years that the awards were given. Rene was co-leader of the now-legendary fusion band Skywalk with six CD's to their credit (which Rene produced). He has toured Canada with jazz legends Chet Baker, Gene Bertoncini and Joe Pass and has toured the former Soviet Union with Paul Horn.
He is also the bassist with a Brazilian band called Novo Tempo which has been touring throughout the US; he is a virtuoso on both string and electric basses. Rene Worst has recorded and performed with numerous jazz greats, including Jack Sheldon, Tommy Banks, Herb Ellis, Freddie Hubbard, Ernestine Anderson, John Faddis, Don Thompson. He has been featured on recordings by David Bowie, Aerosmith and Poison. Rene released a duo album with pianist Miles Black called "Escorial" to much critical acclaim.

This concert is part of a monthly concert series, taking place on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm.

There are 4 available spots, designated as "Roedde House Museum Guests", on a private parking lot at the back of the house (alongside Broughton St).
Other options include the parking lot at the Empire Landmark Hotel (Robson & Broughton) or street parking on Robson and in the West End.
Parking spots are scarce in the neighbourhood, so give yourself some extra time or use public transportation. (Closest Skytrain station: Burrard. We are on the #5 Robson bus route).
