4th Annual a CATpella Festival to Belt Out Cancer
Please join us on January 24, 2020 at an a cappella fundraiser to remember the brilliant light and spirit of Catherine Malatesta and to raise much needed funds for the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation and the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

Catherine (Cat) Malatesta of Arlington was 16 years old when she died of epithelioid sarcoma, a mere 7.5 months from the date of diagnosis.  Catherine was a bubbly and vibrant person who touched nearly everyone she met.  She was active at Arlington High School where she sang in the Madrigal Singers group, acted in the high school musicals, played field hockey, rowed crew and was President of the Student Council.  She was an avid honors student who loved school.  Catherine's life was cut short just as she was beginning to flourish.  We remember her kindness, her compassion, her zest for life.  It is difficult to explain the magnitude and enormity of our loss.  There are few words that can convey something this catastrophic.  So, we will let the music speak for us.

We have raised nearly $175,000 from the first 3 concerts.  They were fabulous evenings of warm songs on a cold winter's evening.  This year we have an equally fabulous program. One of the headliners of the concert and returning is the award winning Boston-based, Sound Off!   Also returning is Catherine's beloved Arlington High School Madrigal Singers, the Winchester High School Octets, and The Common Tones of Boston College.  New this year are an all-male group from Amherst College called The Zumbyes and an all-female group from Tufts called The Jackson Jills.

Returning as our brilliant emcee is Lindsey Mills, an Arlington native and anchor/reporter at NEWS CENTER Maine in Portland.

We are supported by Epizyme, our Platinum Sponsor, two generous Gold Sponsors, Prime Motor Group and The Sanborn Foundation, two Silver Sponsors, Law Enforcement Dimensions and W. L. French Excavating and three fantastic Bronze Sponsors, LaRosa Development, McDonald Contracting and Belmont Orthodontics!  We are grateful for these sponsors who believe in the mission and work of the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation.

Let's try to raise $60,000 to BELT OUT CANCER!!!  Sarcoma patients and pediatric patients need our support desperately!!!

There will be lots of raffles, t-shirt sales and concessions.

Tickets are $20 each.  Seating is general admission.

We are offering pre-sales of t-shirts and raffle tickets.  If you purchase t-shirts or raffle tickets in advance, please pick up at will call in the Arlington High School main lobby.

The high school main lobby doors open at 5:45p.m.  Theater doors open at 6:30p.m.
