Music from The Methow Festival
Violins: Rachel Lee Priday, new Professor at UW and a soloist. Helen Kim, the new Associate Concertmaster at Seattle Symphony. Viola: Christine Grossman, was Principal Viola of the Kansas City Symphony until very recently. Cello: Kevin Krentz, Director of the Methow Music Festival The Program (subject to change):
Mendelssohn String Quartet No. 3 in D major, Op. 44 No. 1 Exciting and virtuosic, always gets the crowd in a great mood. Shostakovich String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, Op. 110 The most famous of his string quartets, beautiful, haunting, thrilling. All the things we love about Shostakovich and none of the stuff we dont. The program will have a few more smaller works, but it is likely to include the Appalachian Waltz by Mark OConnor.
