38th Annual Gryphon Carolers Holiday Concert

This annual holiday concert marks its 38th year and promises to be the best concert to date. With highlights of music from all over the world, the Gryphon All-star band and the Gryphon Carolers bring an experience that is not to be missed. Put simply, it is a program that cannot be found anywhere else. This year's concert will feature unique vocal and band arrangements by Ed Johnson and Carol McComb with a 30 voice choir and intimate band arrangements that will stir your heart one moment and make you laugh out loud the next.

The amazing Gryphon all-star band includes some of the bay area's most loved and respected musicians:
Ed Johnson (vocals, guitar and piano) is an arranger extraordinaire and member of the Brazilian flavored jazz band, Novo Tempo.
Carol McComb (vocals, guitar and mandolin) is a grammy nominated folk musician and songwriter who has toured with Linda Ronstadt and taught over 20,000 students how to play guitar.
Valerie Rose (vocals and violin) is a Celtic and Irish fiddler and singer who has been active in many bay area bands.
Kristen Strom (vocals, saxophone and flute) is best known for her jazz recordings and live performances. Along with Ed Johnson, Kristen is also a member of Novo Tempo.
Preston Carter (bass) is a veteran of many local bands.
Michaelle Goerlitz (percussion) is a member of many bands and has played with a dazzling array of musicians.
Walter Bankovitch (piano) is a jazz pianist with many band credits.
Kathleen Johannessen (bassoon) is a symphony orchestra musician who has performed with many orchestras and musical theatre groups.
