2020 Community Music Workshop and Gathering with Alasdair Fraser
JANUARY 4, WORKSHOP & CEILIDH DANCE PARTY
- Alasdair will teach a medley of tunes, mainly by ear, and create spontaneous arrangements tailored to our large ensemble.
- For players of all ages on a wide range of instruments, including fiddles, cellos, guitars, bass, woodwinds, harp, keyboards, etc. Children should be accompanied by a supervising adult.
- Instruction is geared toward intermediate to advanced musicians, though enthusiasts of all levels are welcome.
- Doors will open at 9:30 am for registration and coffee/tea. We'll take a break for lunch (provided). Workshop concludes at 4:30, followed by a pizza dinner (approx 5:00 pm). The Ceilidh Dance Party begins at 6:30, and concludes at 10 pm.
The evening event is free to workshop participants. Community members, family and friends are welcome to attend; a contribution of $15-20 would be greatly appreciated.
