Chicago Artists Chorale Presents Winter Sun
The Chicago Artists Chorale will present Winter Sun, its fourth concert at Old Saint Patrick's Church in Chicago's beautiful West Loop. The program will feature a stunning new choral work by Sarah Quartel entitled Snow Angel as well as Benjamin Britten's seminal choral classic, A Ceremony of Carols. The chorale will also present several other pieces exploring the beauty and wonder of the Winter season, including famed choral composer Ola Gjeilo's "Days of Beauty" and a Dolly Parton song entitled "Light of a Clear Blue Morning."

Jocelyn Shoulders (cello) and Greg Woods (djembe) will join the Chorale for Snow Angel. A Ceremony of Carols will be accompanied by Ben Melsky on harp (who Chicago Magazine called "a phenomenal harpist"). As usual, the chorale will be accompanied by Maria Honigshnabel on piano.

The evening will be presented as a 75-minute set with no intermission.

Chicago Artists Chorale (CAC) was established in 2014 in response to members of Chicago's rich theatre community looking for an outlet to express themselves through the art of choral music. Since its induction, the group has grown to over 60 singers and expanded to include a variety of artists including actors, directors, choral and theatre educators, stage managers, video game music composers, music directors, sign language interpreters, and more.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Tom Vendafreddo, CAC performs biannual concerts at venues such as the Old St. Pat's, Chicago Temple, Athenaeum Theatre, and The Nettelhorst School. The group has also appeared on WGN Morning News, WGN Midday News, and on the radio with Dean Richards Sunday Morning. In 2015, CAC became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission consists of expanding the artistic experiences of its singers and its audience members.
