Margaret Garrett & the CoPilots
Margaret Garrett played in the garage/ blues/ rock duo Mr.Airplane Man fo almost two decades, releasing seven full length records on Sympathy Records and touring internationally. The band is currently on hiatus, giving Garrett a chance to write and perform in a trio. She has joined forces with Gregg Porter in drums (Bucco Nero, The Concerns, Bauchitherium) and Djim Reynolds on bass (Buco Nero). The drums and bass pair have been together since art school days and have played in several bands together (Milkweed, Tiger Saw, Lonesome Red, Strand of Oaks and Jason Anderson).
Garrett, Reynolds and Porter create a sound thats dreamy, hypnotic, sometimes driving and always spacious. Psych/folk/rock/blues style.
Influences from velvet underground, Byrd's to contemporaries like Steve Gunn, Cass McComb, Tuareg music.
