SVER with Sons of Rainier Duo
Since the groups inception, Norwegian/Swedish folkrock band SVER has gone from strength to strength, playing extensively throughout Europe and the US, gaining a reputation as one of the most acclaimed live acts in the Nordic folk scene. SVER has often been described as "sounding electric without electricity." Their imaginative soundscapes, grooves, and melodies will take you on a journey over the Norwegian fjords and mountains, into the lively pubs and back out into the deep forest of their musicality.

The Sons of Rainier conjure serenades for hobos, widows, lovers, and fry cooks with a sound that is part early country, part poetry, part doo-wop, part breakfast. As a duo, Devin Champlin and Dean Johnson share and swap songwriting duties, offering an intimate view of their music. They keep to the lo-fi, DIY end of the spectrum, crafting songs that are heavy on vocal harmony, and subtle instrumentation, paired with evocative meandering lyrics that ponder big questions in the simple moments. It is 45 rpm folk music that is sweet and haunting. It's a Polaroid of a stolen slow dance.
