From the Heart by Jazz Singer Anya Malkiel
Anya Malkiel grew up in the former Soviet Union where she was well known in the underground rock scene during her university years. She later turned to jazz and this passion was reinvigorated once she immigrated into the United States. With her life in the US established and daughter raised, Anya is back singing jazz at local clubs and studios.
"From The Heart" is Anya's first album where she sings jazz standards demonstrating a wide range of styles, and with each song she draws listeners into her warm embrace. Her voice is beautiful, edgy, playful, and energetic all at once. She is joined by stellar musicians - Randy Porter (piano), Jason Lewis (drums), John Wiitala (bass), Christian Tamburr (vibraphone and two arrangements), Jim Schneider (saxophone and flute).
