Midsommar
A young woman, already dealing with the death of her parents, joins her boyfriend and his friends on a trip to Sweden, specifically to a remote town with unique midsummer traditions. Things go south from there.
"Aster has harnessed a singular mode of uneasiness in Midsommar that is cumulative and insidious: every setpiece is composed of precise, striking visual elements that are at once abstract and potently, primally suggestive." - Film Comment
"...one of the most unpredictable horror movies of the year, and perhaps the most bizarrely cathartic breakup movie ever." - Pitchfork
""Midsommar" isn't just a great horror movie... It is also one of the best movies ever made about living with mental illness." - Salon
"Another groundbreaker in horror from Hereditary's Ari Aster who mixes a modern breakup story with pagan rituals in Sweden. If you're looking for the scariest movie ever shot in blinding sunlight, the raw and riveting Midsommar is it." - Rolling Stone
""Midsommar" understands that the scariest things sometimes happen in broad daylight." - Boston Globe
