Borromeo String Quartet
The Borromeo String Quartet has been the faculty ensemble-in-residence at the New England Conservatory for 22 years. Now celebrating their 25th anniversary, the quartet is admired and sought after for both its fresh interpretations of the classical music canon and its championing of works by 20th and 21st century composers. Nicholas Kitchen, violin, Kristopher Tong, violin, Mai Motobuchi, viola, and Yeesun Kim, cello, have collaborated with many of today's great composers and performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Cathy Fuller, host of Classical New England on WGBH radio says, "They're champions of new music...but they also thrive on making the old classics sound vital and fresh."
