Contemporarily Out of Order is thrilled to be presenting our ninth installment of "Convoluted Conceptions". After last years successful run of "Convoluted Conceptions: Edgar Allan Poe" featuring the tales of "The Raven", "The Black Cat", and "Tell Tale Heart", we are back with a brand new, full length production of our adaptation to Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are".
Contemporarily Out of Order took the classic tale of "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak and gave it a modern twist. "Where the Wild Things Are" follows the story of Max, a socially inept teenager who runs away from home after being told they're behaving like a monster. Max finds themself in a place where poverty has caused all of its inhabitants to turn into monsters acting upon their rawest emotions; hope, grief, excitement, anxiety and depression. Throughout Contemporarily Out of Order's adaptation, we examine the human psyche and how patience and love can save you from the darkest of times.
This performance is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are available online and at the door.
