Songwriters on Stage
Tues Oct 1 | 7pm
General Admission | $10
Each month, the Maine Songwriters Association presents Songwriters on Stage, a showcase of some of the best songwriters Maine has to offer. Its an opportunity for listeners to discover new music or come hear local favorites in one of the best listening rooms in Maine. This season premiere will feature four veteran performers: Jane Fallon, Mark Bridge, John Ferullo, and host, Perry Desmond-Davies.
Jane Fallon is a veteran performer whose smooth, rich voice and well-written songs get noticed. With vocals that are called angelic and mesmerizing by Boston's Metronome magazine, her original songs combine humor, intelligence, and deep musicality with an artfulness that is unusual.
Marc Bridge has been characterized as a storyteller, with a guitar, who uses modern day society, politics and relationships to weave an entertaining view of life through his twisted lens. It's the *twist* that he puts on topics that makes his songs and performances unique and memorable.
John Ferullo is a songwriter and open mike host from Massachusetts. He performs his own and other folks songs all around New England. His music has been described as about important things with his stories about seemingly small things. Stories about regular people.
Perry's original songs relate experiences in life, relationships, work, even serious illness. Her distinctive voice ties the words and music together. Sweet Ride, her newest CD, has been described as: "an inspired, addictive mix of folk, blues, bluegrass and acapella."
