Peter and the Duck
What if Sergei Prokofiev's beloved composition "Peter and the Wolf" -- the musical symphony for children -- contained fake news?
The Bearded Ladies Cabaret's John Jarboe and the Revolution Wind Quintet explore Prokofiev's dark story by removing the quacking duck from the classic story's center. Join them for a "happy hour" musical meditation on generational angst, propaganda, Soviet influence and the dangers of story time. Cake and cocktails served!
Text written and Performed by John Jarboe Dramaturgy and Outside Eye, Mary Tuomanen Costume by Rebecca Kanach
Originally commissioned and produced by Abigail Guay for Bryn Mawr's Learning to Listen series.
