Singer songwriter Dave Godowsky assembled an all-star crew to be his support band for a series of shows a few month back.  He now reprises it for a one night only Lizard show that features Dave's signature sardonic yet sincere songs about life's oddities and truisms as well as this incredible list of players. Joining the bill is singer songwriter Dietrich Strause, one of the best that this city has to offer.

More on Dave Godowsky...
Dave Godowsky's songs have been described as "sublime" (Billboard), "literate and heartstring-tugging" (Boston Globe), and "brilliant" (Brooklyn Vegan). They blend the sardonic and the sincere, carving out a unique place in the musical landscape of the past decade over the course of two albums. HIs debut, "All You Love Is Need" (originally released under the pseudonym John Shade) was the first record to be made at Justin Vernon's "April Base" studio in Wisconsin (Vernon invited him there after a stint of opening dates during which he learned Godowsky didn't yet have a record.) His follow-up, "Pregret," expanded into more extravagant pop production, and featured guest vocals from Adam Duritz and Lianne LaHavas. At this time, Godowsky also formed a band with Gene Ween, co-writing songs for his debut solo album, "FREEMAN."

Instead of pursuing a musician's career however, Godowsky opted for one behind the scenes, doing A&R/Management for bands including Against Me!, Nathaniel Rateliff, Okkervil River, Cass McCombs, Delta Spirit, and Speedy Ortiz. He has since moved on from that part of the industry, returning home to Boston to work with the innovative audio tech company iZotope, start a family, and work on his third album. This show will preview songs from that, with a backing band that features local ace musicians Mairi Chaimbeul (harp), Sean Staples (mandolin), and Sean Trishka (drums).
