PAUL LEWIS, PIANO: BEETHOVEN AND SCHUBERT
The English pianist Paul Lewis is internationally regarded as one of the most poetic artists of his generation. His performances of the core piano works of Beethoven and Schubert have received unanimous critical and public acclaim worldwide. His program will include Beethovens cherished Moonlight Sonata in C# minor and Schuberts sublime Sonata in G Major, which Robert Schumann called Schuberts most perfect sonata in form and conception.
"Lewis's deep insights into the emotional complications of this music were matched by his firm grasp of classical structure and the ways in which Schuberts lyrical gift illuminates that structure. This was Schubert playing of a very high order." - Chicago Tribune
