Robin Holcomb: Live @ The Howland!
The Howland Cultural Center, Beacon's unparalleled arts and entertainment venue, now celebrating it's 40th Anniversary, is pleased to present EFW's next-to-last concert of the year with Robin Holcomb, the incomparable pianist, composer, singer/songwriter and veteran Downtown musician as she performs a solo concert of her work called "fascinating, eclectic, arresting original music" by The New Yorker.
'Ms. Holcomb has done something remarkable here; she has created a new American regionalism, spun from many threads-country rock, minimalism, Civil War songs, Baptist hymns, Appalachian folk tunes, even the poly-tonal music of Charles Ives. The music that results is as elegantly simple as a Shaker quilt, and no less beautiful." Mark Dery, NY Times.
Doors open at 7:30, concert at 8:00.
Snacks provided, wine, beer, etc. available.
