Join Les DeMerle, Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, as he presents and describes the many styles and history of the upcoming 2019 AIJF world-class headliner artists Delfeayo Marsalis and Jamil Sharif in story and song.
The Dynamic Les DeMerle Jazz Quartet with Bonnie Eisele vocals, Doug Matthews piano/keyboards, Les DeMerle drums/vocals, and multi-instrumentalist Dr. Bill Prince will perform music in the style of New Orleans legend Delfeayo Marsalis, from swing and bebop to Dixieland, Latin, and more. Theyll be joined by 18-year-old saxophonist John Brown, 2019 AIJF Scholarship winner.
To set the mood for this festive program at Story & Song Bookstore Bistro, youll be treated to scrumptious food and potent drink NAwlins-style while video clips of the Jamil Sharif Trio appearing in the film version of the Ray Charles story are rolling in the background.
