A Far Cry's Jordan Hall Debut!
This program is titled "Homage" and will open with Arvo Part's haunting "Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten" for Strings and Bell, followed by the unconventional & seldom heard 2nd Divertimento for Strings in B-flat major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the delightful German Baroque composer, Georg Muffat's Corelli-inspired, Concerto Grosso No.5 in G major from the collection, "Armonico Tributo" will close out the first half. The second half of the program will feature Benjamin Britten's Variations on a theme by Frank Bridge for Strings, written at the youthful age of 24 as a tribute to his teacher, Frank Bridge. Returning for his second set of collaborations, the vivacious and brilliant harpsichordist, Mahan Esfahani will join A Far Cry for the Mozart & the Muffat. A reception will follow at the conclusion of the concert.
