Oliver Messiaen 100th Birthday Celebration
Pre-Concert lecture by Professor Will Johnson at 7:30 pm
The works of Olivier Messiaen are unlike anybody else's, imbued with his love of birdsong, an eclectic ear for world music and his passionate Catholicism. SSU's Messiaen Centenary concert will feature Flutist Kathleen Reynolds in Le Merle noir, Soprano Carol Menke in Pomes Pour Mi, and Music Studio Faculty in Quartet for the End of Time and Oiseaux exotiques with guest Pianist Paul Ammerman.
