Saxophonist Daniel Rotem and pianist Tamir Hendelman perform an evening of
jazz compositions, jazz renditions of Israeli music and creative originals on a Louis XV Steinway masterfully rebuilt by David Andersen
Award-winning pianist-composer Tamir Hendelman joins Daniel Rotem in an evening of improvisations at the Sherman Oaks home of an art and music lover, performing on a masterfully rebuilt Louis XV 1925 Steinway B, courtesy of piano technician extraordinaire David Andersen. The evening will be a celebration of creative modern jazz, Tamir and Daniel's Israeli musical heritage, and jazz standards.
Daniel Rotem has traveled from Tel Aviv to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, to Los Angeles to study as a member of the world-renowned Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz Performance. He has visited Morocco as part of a U.S. State Department Tour, to the White House leading and narrating a jazz history masterclass and performance hosted by the First Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama on International Jazz Day and more. He has performed on four continents with artists from Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Billy Childs, to Stevie Wonder, Usher, India Arie, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson.
Tamir Hendelman is known as a leader of his own trio with two jazz chart topping releases under his name, as well as a long-time member of the Jeff Hamilton Trio and Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and has performed and recorded with vocalists Roberta Gambarini, Natalie Cole, Tierney Sutton and Barbra Streisand. He has performed with orchestras, including a new rendition of Rhapsody In Blue- and given solo recitals celebrating the music of Cole Porter, Thelonius Monk and Dizzy Gillespie.
