Mali, fin 17e siècle. Dans un petit hameau du pays Dogon, un chasseur vit avec ses deux femmes. La première, Yamio, infertile après 10 ans de mariage, tente de se suicider à cause de lhumiliation que lui impose sa jeune coépouse. Mali, late 17th century. In a small hamlet of the Dogon country, a hunter lives with his two wives. After 10 years of marriage, Yamio, the first wife, can still not bear a child and tries to commit suicide because of her co-wives humiliations. Yamio throws herself off the cliff but lands miraculously safe.
