The Beautiful Soul (Kerrville)
The Enlightenment concept of refining the self through struggle to achieve "Die Schone Seele" ("The Beautiful Soul"). We think Brahms' music is a musical expression of that quest for total balance and his gorgeous A Major Piano Quartet is the centerpiece of this program which opens with Dohnanyi's delightful Serenade for string trio.
