Beyond the Notes presents: Seeing Double Duo
Violinist, Sarah Whitney, is thrilled to present her interactive concert concept, Beyond the Notes, with Seeing Double Duo for a special summer pop up house concert!

Beyond the Notes is a unique and interactive concert experience that gives the audience a chance to get to know the performers beyond what can be read in their bios. In addition to presenting some of today's most sought after musicians, Beyond the Notes invites audience members to participate in the concert by submitting written questions. Questions are selected randomly and answered live on stage by the performers throughout the concert.

"I believe that too often there is a barrier between the audience and the performers when the audience knows little about the musicians they are watching." says Whitney. "The mission of Beyond the Notes is to change that dynamic because getting to know the musicians on stage can significantly change the listening experience.

For this special concert, Sarah will be joined by Julia Salerno, violinist and professor at Eastern Washington University. Seeing Double Duo proves that the music of two violins can be much more than the sum of their parts. The audience will be taken on a journey from Baroque to Jazz, with compositions by Telemann, Bartok, Prokofiev, Summer and O'Connor.

Longtime best friends, Sarah and Julia began performing duo violin concerts while studying together at the University of Michigan. Despite residing on opposite coasts, Julia as violin/viola professor at Eastern Washington University and Sarah as a violinist in the NYC based quintet Sybarite5, the concerts have continued over the past decade. This extraordinary opportunity to hear these friends in concert is an event not to be missed.
