This gentle send-up of the Western genre features Lane and Plummer as a pair of Oklahoma adolescents who run away from home seeking adventure. What they find instead is a down-at-the-heels gang of misfits lead by gentlemanly outlaw Bill Doolin (Lancaster). Lancaster draws on his dozens of Western roles to bring his world-weary, retirement-bound gunslinger to life.
