Northwind Arts Center welcomes Portland singer-songwriters Cal Scott and Richard Moore for an evening of original songs and a few classics, Friday August 16 at 7:00pm. Series sponsor is Peninsula Hearing. Media sponsor for this series is KPTZ-FM radio.
A little history: Portland in the early 70s. Three very talented Lewis and Clark College students, Cal Scott, Richard Moore and Markie Post get together to sing a few songs for their classmates. Markie goes off to Hollywood, but Cal and Richard keepa singing, together and apart, building careers in and around the music business.
Cal, a multi-instrumentalist, led several popular rock and jazz bands and began a career composing scores for film and video, including many award-winning PBS documentaries. He was also musical director for The Trail Band for more than 25 years. Richard became a leader in Portlands recording industry and a first-call talent known for his voice work on commercials for major businesses like Fred Meyer and Comcast.
All the while both wrote songs and maintained their friendship. Nine years ago they joined musical forces again to host a bi-monthly songwriter circle, inviting other talented Portland musicians to join them in delighting an audience that even now keeps coming back for more.
Northwind Arts Center is delighted to present Cal Scott and Richard Moore in their first Port Townsend appearance. Expect laughs and tears, virtuosity and silliness. Theyll bring it all.
