Back by popular demand! Powerhouse pianist Shoshana Telner returns to the Blueridge Festival with a program of profound emotion and mindboggling virtuosity. Liszt's diabolical Piano Sonata sets the stage for a rare complete performance of Chopin's exquisitely lyrical but blazingly difficult Four Ballades. Also featured is the Canadian premiere of Russian-American composer Vera Ivanova's rhapsodic In the Deep Heart's Core, based on poetry by Akhmatova, Hesse, and Yeats.
Vera Ivanova: In the Deep Heart's Core
Franz Liszt: Piano Sonata in b minor
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata op. 10 no. 2
Chopin: Ballades no. 1 to 4

Hailed as "not afraid to take some pretty big chances," and an event where "musical excellence is assured," the Blueridge Chamber Music Festival offers innovative programming, dazzling artists, and unforgettable performances in a relaxed summer setting. Now celebrating its 10th season, Blueridge presents a dynamic professional concert series alongside a one-of-a-kind academy for gifted young musicians. The North Shore News calls it "not what people usually expect from a chamber music festival."
