Broken Places - Film and Panel Event
Film viewing and panel discussion event
Thursday August 8 at 5:00 PM at the Pickford Film Center
1318 Bay St
In honor of National Community Health Center Week, Unity Care NW is hosting an informative evening to discuss and raise awareness of the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).
Why are some children permanently damaged by early adversity while others are able to thrive? Roger Weisberg dug into his extensive film archives to update a few of the stories of the children he filmed decades ago. Viewers are given a unique perspective on how the trauma that these children experienced shaped their lives as adults. It illuminates the impact of childhood adversity as well as factors that foster resilience.
5:00 - Join Unity Care NW for a reception before the film
5:30 - Film viewing
6:45 - Panel discussion with local experts
Tickets: FREE for this sponsored event but must be obtained prior to the film time in order to secure your spot.
