Cross Cultural Collaboration
"World Music" - what does it mean exactly? Why not just call it music? The next concert in the Matapa Music & Arts World Music Series asks that question with a unique performance by Terra Lightfoot, Zal Sissokho, and Irshad Khan.
Three artists from Canada, Senegal and India will meet in a musical exploration of their respective traditions. This project was created specifically for Matapa's World Music Series. The goal of the concerts called "Meeting Points" is to present audiences with a way of thinking outside the box when it comes to the power of music and the arts to build our diverse community.
"We would like to give our audiences a sense of the similarities across musical genres and also provide a platform for a cultural exchange to enrich our community through the magic of music.
