Bring the Funk! A new series featuring a curated show by saxophonist Mike Caudill and bassist Blain Crawford both of the band City of Four. They play an original brand of instrumental music, influenced by jazz, funk, fusion, pop/rock, hip hop, and other genres. With each edition of this new series Mike and Blain will feature guest side players and a vocalist. Bring the Funk! features the music of City of Four, local R&B band Miss Fairchild, and more!
Tonights special guest is The space goddess of funk! Saucy Lady is a force to be reckoned with.
Since her 2011 debut album Diversify, this Boston-based vocalist, song writer, and DJ has released over 60 singles and remixes of her original music, mostly in vinyl formats that have sold out within weeks of release.
Saucy Ladys music has been featured on the soundtrack of Netflix Original Series, "On the Block, Tiffany & Co.'s global campaign on their new jewelry line, and has made the best seller list on Bandcamp for her work with the Honey Sauce Band.
Her original tracks can be found off the Chicago-based label Star Creature Universal Vibrations, Midnight Riot, Soul Clap Records, Dopeness Galore, Street Muzik, Kadokawa, Toho, or through her own label Audio Chemists Recordings.
With the mission to empower all humankind with her space-age groove, she has been traveling the globe to share her musical selections as a DJ including the UK, Germany, France, Japan, and US from coast to coast. She specializes in spinning Soul, Funk, Boogie, Disco, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop and R&B records.
Saucy Ladys sophomore album LP Supanova is planned for launch in April 2019 through Star Creature records. Expect a full sensory-experience with layers of highly intricate vocal stacks over jazz funk, b-boy breaks, and cosmic synths.
