Shawano Folk Music Festival - 2019
This year marks the 41st anniversary of the Shawano Folk Music Festival! Our 40th anniversary celebration last year was a huge success and we're hoping the magic will continue. It's a family friendly event filled with an eclectic mix of music, dance, crafts, food and misc. fun stuff. The wooded paths of beautiful Mielke Park, lined with musicians, crafters, storytellers and more is the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend.
Friday and Saturday evening concerts are held inside the quaint, air-conditioned Mielke Arts Center, with a great lineup of performers each night. Saturday and Sunday daytime programs include music, dance, children's programs, craft demos, sing-alongs, open stage and an instrument swap on four outdoor stages and other spots on the grounds. Local vendors offer an array of good food.
Again this year: MASTER CLASSES! Take your musical talents to the next level with an intimate two hour session with Andy Cohen, John Stano or Joe Crookston. Pre-registration is required. Only $35 per session. Classes will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Call 920-680-4662.
Our 2019 lineup: Friday concert - Matt Watroba, Wade Fernandez, Sweet Sheiks, Claudia Schmidt & Sally Rogers. Saturday concert - Pat Wiley with Frogwater, Katie Dahl, Escaping Pavement, Joe Crookston, Connla. MC's - Friday: Pat Wiley & Tom Pease, Saturday: Matt Watroba.
It's a family weekend, and it goes on rain or shine. Join us for an evening, a day or the entire weekend. The festival is sponsored by the Shawano County Arts Council and is produced by an all-volunteer planning committee.
Come sing, dance and play with us!
