FRANKYE KELLY QUINTET at the Sound Room
Frankye Kelly is one of the Bay Area's premier jazz vocalists. Ms. Kelly is known for her classical interpretation of jazz standards and her lilting and haunting expression of down home blues. Kelly has performed many times in national and international arenas: Japan, France, the Netherlands, Thailand (Bangkok), and China (Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou) and of course the United States.
Her performances include selections from her 4 released CDs, "The Night Is Young", "My Life More Than It Is, Not Just The Blues", "Live At Yoshi's, Frankye Kelly Sings Songs For My Father" and "Frankye Kelly Sings A Tribute To Shirley Horn", and some popular jazz and blues standards.
In addition to being a musical artist and performer, she is an educator who teaches jazz music and history to students at all levels.
Frankye will be joined by Tammy Hall on piano, Michael O'Neill on woodwinds, Ranzel Merrit on drums and Fritz Burden on bass.
