ABOUT THE ARTIST
During the cold Maine winter of 2009, jazz-infused harmonies met bluegrass roots in Jos small kitchen. Two years later they hit the road with spot-on vocal harmonies and groove driven, genre bending arrangements of original songs and select covers.

Wielding acoustic guitar and banjo, Sorcha unveils a suite of musical styles that shows a wide-ranging songwriting abilitywitty verses with smart rhymes (Sam Pfeifle, Portland Pheonix) as Jo rolls her classical cello background into funky bluegrass chops a-la Crooked Still and Ben Sollee.

Performance highlights include: Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist showcase; sold-out show at Club Passim; featured video for Playing For Change, Playing for Maine; and teaming up with Kafari (on rhythm bones) to open for Leyla McCalla, celebrated Hatian-American cellist, multi-instrumentalist and singer, formerly of the Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Their live performances are moving and downright joyful.
