Workshop w/Elise Pallagi
CityStudio
Victoria, BC
Share this event:

Elise Pallagi will be presenting an objective workshop on cut-ups devised from Chris Cran of One Yellow Rabbit Theatre Companys Summer lab. The objective of this workshop is to show participants that they shouldn't be afraid to take their writing and play with it, mess it up, destroy it if necessary. Great works of art are never finished, nothing should be considered sacred and sometimes intervention is necessary to stimulate your creative process.

Workshop participants will be given a brief history of the origins of the practice of cut-ups in the Dadaist movement in the 1920s and later on in the Surrealist movement in the mid 20th century. This workshop will include a brief performance and will challenge participants to hone their observational, creative writing, as well as their performance skills. This is your space to play with your new creations and surroundings. The workshop will conclude with a short debrief session. Embrace your inner dada and find new ways to recharge your creative juices.

Participants should come prepared with a notebook, pens, a pair of scissors and a glue stick. Be ready to get messy and have some fun with your writing!
