Main Line Symphony Orchestra Concert "American Voices"
The Main Line Symphony Spring Concert will feature Brent Celek as the narrator for Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland. Brent Celek was tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles for 11 straight seasons, including last years Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots. Sports Illustrated lauded him as the longest tenured pro athlete in Philadelphia noting that the Eagles described him as one of the best tight ends in the franchises history.
Angelina Phillips, talented student violin soloist and the co-winner of the James Deitz Memorial Competition, will delight our audience with the playful Saints-Saens Habanera violin solo.
On the Waterfront Suite was one of Bernsteins proudest creations, and Aaron Coplands Lincoln Portrait celebrates the towering words of perhaps our finest president.
We finish our performance with a truly unique and undersung American voice in Randall Thompson, his joyful 2nd Symphony.
