The Covington Quartet
The Beethoven Society of America is proud to present The Covington Quartet on April 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM. The concert will be held at the German Embassy located at 4645 Reservoir Road NW in Washington, DC. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by visiting the Society's website www.thebeethovensociety.org. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
The Covington Quartet has rapidly become an important factor in the Washington musical firmament. Consisting of Greg Pinney and Luke Wedge, violin; William Hurd, viola; and Frank McKinster, cello, the Quartet's associations with Montgomery, Northern Virginia, and Gettysburg colleges since its 2001 founding have brought renown to all four players that allows them to operate both within and without the academic framework.
For our delectation, these four will offer up a most appealing program. *Beethoven: Opus 18, No. 6, in B-flat major *Ravel: String Quartet in F major *Schubert: "Death and the Maiden"
A reception with The Rome Trio including a sumptuous buffet and an open wine bar follows the performance.
