Storyteller, bluesman and balladeer, Tom Rush ushered in the folk revival of the 60's with James Taylor calling him one of his early heroes and main influences.|
Today, his audience bears witness to his distinctive guitar style, wry humor and that voice that's "still molasses, smoke and licorice" (Nancy Young, GateHouse News Service). It's always an event when this legend returns to the Guthrie Center stage.
Matt Nakoa began composing music as a teenager. Following a formative stint as a classical pianist, he won a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. After college, Matt toured with his band, The Fens, and eventually landed in New York Citys vibrant piano bar scene. Matt quickly became a star performer at Manhattans Brandys Piano Bar, with lines outside the door each Saturday night.
Matts piano music has received favorable reviews in publications including The New York Times, and his film scoring has been featured by Disney.
