Musical Art Quintet
A genre-trailblazer, this group, led by bassist and composer Sascha Jacobsen, grew out of Mission District jam sessions at the Revolution Cafe. Saschas pieces combine elements of classical music with rhythms and sounds from Jazz, Afro-Cuban Son, Argentine Tango, and Klezmer.
They will be performing Saschas original works and arrangements of works by Duke Ellington, Argentine composer Ariel Ramírez, Brazilian Jazz Master Hermeto Pascoal, and Dominican pianist/composer Michel Camilo
Performers are: Sascha Jacobsen, bass; Jory Fankuchen, violin and viola;
Anthony Blea, violin; Lewis Patzner, cello; Charith Premawardhana, viola.
