Roedde House's Jazz Nights presents: The David Blake Trio
Guitarist and composer, David Blake is an emerging talent from Vancouver's vibrant jazz community.
His guitar playing is steeped in the traditions of jazz guitarists such as Jim Hall, Ed Bickert and Grant Green yet his compositions offer a modern, contemporary twist.
David's groups have been featured in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.As a sideman he has travelled extensively, performing his arrangements and compositions at jazz clubs across the continent.These include Yoshi's (San Fransisco), Upstairs (Montreal), The Rex (Toronto), The Cellar (Vancouver) and many others.
As a student, David had the fortune to study with some of Canada's greatest composers and improvisers including Ross Taggart, David Occhipinti, Bill Coon, Dave Young, Ihor Kukurudza and Bob Murphy.
David will be releasing his debut CD in the fall of 2013.
Reservations strongly advised.
This concert is part of a monthly concert series, taking place on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm.

There are 4 available spots, designated as "Roedde House Museum Guests", on a private parking lot at the back of the house (alongside Broughton St).
Other options include the parking lot at the Empire Landmark Hotel (Robson & Broughton) or street parking on Robson and in the West End.
Parking spots are scarce in the neighbourhood, so give yourself some extra time or use public transportation. (Closest Skytrain station: Burrard. We are on the #5 Robson bus route).
