Elements: Songs of Earth, Water, Fire and Air
7:30 p.m., Oct. 19, and 3 p.m., Oct. 20, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 3228 SW Sunset Blvd., Portland. From the progressive Renaissance harmonies of Gesualdo, through the classical styling of Haydn and Mozart, to the contemporary evocations of Ola Gjeilo, the music will explore the historical and contemporary cultural contexts of earth, water, fire and air.
