FSSGB Fall Getaway Weekend
Each fall, FSSGB sponsors a weekend in a tranquil setting within easy driving distance of Boston. The weekend is filled with music -- song swaps, workshops and mini-concerts led by professional staff and campers on Saturday and Sunday. The Fall Getaway gives campers a chance to meet each other, trade songs and tunes, and enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city.

We are delighted to have Kim Wallach and Andy & Judy Daigle on staff this year.  Since 1979 Kim Wallach has been writing, singing and recording her songs for adults and children.  With new songs, traditional gems, hard-earned wisdom, an out-of-left-field sense of humor, instrumental skills on piano, guitar and banjo, Kim performs both solo and with the Short Sisters up and down the East Coast. A skilled facilitator escorting the audience on a tour of emotions, stories and discoveries, she is at home on any stage.  Andy & Judy do a masterful job of involving the audience in their performances. Sing-a-longs and smiles are the norm at one of their concerts. Their close harmonies blend Judys evocative alto and Andys deep baritone. Beginning instrumentally with a classic folk guitar base, Andy & Judy have deepened their sound through the addition of mandolin, banjo, piano, harmonica, ukulele, and with support musicians, bass, violin and percussion.

The program for the weekend has not been finalized yet, but the proposed lineup includes Harmony Singing, Songs for a Sunday Morning, Ballad Singing, and more!  The weekend will also feature a concert by staff members, and a campers' concert for which any camper can sign up to do a song, tune or spoken word piece.  If you have suggestions for workshops, email fgw@fssgb.org.

If you have any questions about the weekend, send email to send email to getaway@fssgb.org or call Lori at 978-264-9710.

NOTE: if you'd prefer not to pay a service fee by signing up online, you can download a paper registration form from our website and send in a check.
