Peter Rowan- Atherton Summer Season 2013
   Grammy-award winner and six-time nominee Peter Rowan performs his first solo Honolulu concert as part of Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Summer Season on Friday, August 23. With a career spanning over five decades, this guitarist-singer-songwriter's early years were under the tutelage of bluegrass legend Bill Monroe as a member of the Blue Grass Boys. Rowan went on to form the seminal folk-rock band Seatrain, then enjoyed cult status as a member of 1970's bluegrass super group Old and In the Way, with the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia and mandolinist David Grisman. He has enjoyed a breakout career as a solo musician and bandleader with a solid stream of records, collaborative projects, and constant touring.
